Mexican Yellow
Eurema mexicana

Observation date: November 20, 2021
Submitted by: Chrustay
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Surprisingly after the freeze here last night, there were several different species of butterfly still around. We started here very early in the morning but butterflies, of course, weren't flying until about 9:15 or so. nicippe, iole, exile and two Colias (in addition to this mexicana) at least, were flying. But all were extremely "flighty" and/or landed in cattails along the creek where I could not photograph them.

Coordinator notes: for some of the popular sulphurs and blues it takes a hard freeze to knock them off. keep watching!
