Observation notes: Many individuals grouped together in "puddle clubs" to take nutrients from moist soil, moss, rocks, and shallow water at the base of Soledad Canyon Waterfall. On their fringes, Mexican yellow groups often intermingle with sleepy and tailed orange butterflies at this location. The site was shaded, breezy, and cool on this mid-afternoon visit.
