Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: At first I thought this might be some kind of tiger moth due to it's shape but Chuck Harp on iNaturalist sent me the Moth photographers' group page for E. umbrimarginella and it was a near-perfect match. However it came to my attention that E. umbrimarginella is separated from the closely related E. lassenella by an orange stripe on the forewing which this specimen lacks. Found perched in beargrass, didn't care at all when I moved the stalk it was on and put my hand near it. This will be the first live observation of this species on BAMONA if confirmed. Second pic included to show size.

Coordinator notes: There's no sighting data from NM, but I believe this is definitely E. lassenella.
