Luna moth
Actias luna

Observation date: August 01, 2021
Submitted by: theliteralvoid
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I found the moth on our covered porch. It was sunny outside, but I don't recall what the weather had been like. The moth was alive at the time of the photograph. I believe the leaf next to it is a maple leaf, and I have no clue what the other bug in the picture is. The moth was alive at the time of the photo, and could weakly move its wings and legs. Unfortunately, between the evening on the day the picture was taken and noon the next day, the moth was killed, as I found it's wings torn apart in the area the moth had been left.
