Coordinator notes: Based on date and locality, it is gabbii. Northern Checkerspots do reach Los Angeles County in the Old Ridge Route area but those are not likely to show up until May and June. That species can be found in Frazier Park (Kern County) and Frazier Mountain (Ventura County). ..Ken Davenport
