Observation notes: Individual, along the Rio Grande, taking nectar from an annual borage in the Cryptantha genus. A few pygmy blues have been observed here in the past 2-3 weeks but were difficult to photograph until these tiny "belly flowers" emerged. The day was cool, under bright sun, and heavy W-to-E wind was shunted over this site by dense coyote willow growth.
