Observation notes: Historically, I would assume this individual is a C. ladon based on the time of year, but I'm also now seeing reports of a spring flight of C. neglecta too. The ventral hindwing submarginal pattern seems darker than summer C. neglecta individuals in the area, but also not as dark as some definite C. ladon I've seen previous years nearby. Curious on your thoughts...thanks!
