Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Individual perched among gravel covering the Soledad Canyon Trail; gusting wind was strong above the trail, to 45mph. Only ventral wing surface images could be obtained. The afternoon was warm, under full sun, and windy.

Coordinator notes: Jim, this one has some wear, but I think if you check the field guides you'll see that the ventral markings are a dead ringer for Viereck's skipper. Texas R-S is a fair bit smaller, too.
