Coordinator notes: This sighting was flag misidentified by another Lepidopterist. I felt this was E. portlandia and identified it was such. I did research concerning countless photos of both E. portlandia & E. anthedon. In E. portlandia the antenna is a gold the entire thickened area of the antenna to tip. E. anthedon has the gold start at the bottom of the thickened area of the antenna but only reaching mid shaft of the thickest part toward tip, then the black "band" takes over to end with a small gold tip. In picture the antenna appear almost a cross of the two. But I do feel it's only very slightly more toward E. anthedon. Anyone please look very closely on this one! JAMES STEEN These species can be very similar, but based on the reduced amount of white scaling on the ventral wings, and dark band below the antennal club, this appears to be L. anthedon. J. Calhoun
