Observation notes: Found near the base of a tree in the front yard lawn which is surrounded by woods. It was fluttering it’s wings and and “frantically” (it seemed to look that way) making its way thru the grass. We were looking for a lost bean bag with a lantern when found. It was a warm evening. It’s legs were all located at the front and it seemed to be dragging its segmented body. Beautiful yellow and purplish in color, fat body, approximately 4” in length.
