Coordinator notes: This and the Common Checkered Skipper cannot be separated by field marks but based on locality, only White Checkered Skippers are confirmed in Ventura County. They do in Kern and Santa Barbara Counties, confirmed by examining male genitalia. Female genitalia are the same.-Ken Davenport
