Pacific Dotted-Blue
Euphilotes enoptes

Observation date: May 27, 2022
Submitted by: bjones7777
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I am unsure as to which subspecies this could be or even if it is a Dotted Blue (could be a Bernadino Blue). It was nectaring on Eriogonum kennedyi var. austromontanum.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Please be sure and provide geographic (not GPS Coordinates for this region) because identifications can get complicated in San Bernardino County and Kern and Inyo Counties with many look alike Euphilotes blues like Mojave, Ellis's, Elvira's and Dammer's Blues I can't tell from a dot whether in the mountains or desert. In this case, the host would seem to suggest a enoptes is involved. I am more likely to put submissions without localities in the reject or cannot identify categories. I need to know habitat and biosystems to ID. San Bernardino and Inyo Counties are the most diverse faunas in the state.-Ken Davenport
