Observation notes: Individual checkerspot taking nectar from stinging serpent flowers established along an arroyo at the Achenbach Canyon Trailhead of the Organ Mountains. This is one of three individuals I observed in two low elevation canyons. The midday was hot, moderately windy, and under high clod cover.
