Coordinator notes: This is subspecies Cercyonis pegala texana - very nice still shot in flight! Many years ago when I collected specimen butterflies I remember some populations in this subspecies of C. pegala would produce truly huge individuals, in very grassy hedgerows in Reno & Rice County Kansas.
