Observation notes: I was standing by Segerstrom Creek and this butterfly landed right on my pant leg. It flew creekside and was drinking for a while. It let me get so close with the camera, that on a whim I reached down with my finger. It crawled on top and promptly started "licking" my skin with its proboscis. I must have tasted good because it stayed with me for several minutes...even when I started walking back down the trail. After taking off from my hand it landed on my shoulder. Fearless and friendly.
