Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: A pair (2 of 3) yellows taking nutrients, nectar, and performing courtship displays at the head of Soledad Canyon, mid-slope of the Organ Mountains. They spent time on moist soil with dappled shade, at the shallow water of the seep, and nectaring from pepperweed (white mustard) flowers. The early afternoon was hot, mostly sunny, and with moderate wind gusts occasionally blowing up-canyon.
