Bronze Roadside-Skipper
Amblyscirtes aenus

Observation date: August 13, 2022
Submitted by: Joshua C
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This very worn butterfly was perched on a rock along the Embudito trail past the seep. It would occasionally flit around near the rock but always returned to it. It eventually flew away when a large group of people walked past. I understand that it might not be identifiable due to the wear but the white spots seem to match Bronze roadside skipper. I can also see some gray scales remaining on the HW in the last photo, where I used flash.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: it is worn, with most of the "bronze" gone, but I agree with your diagnosis.
