Observation notes: This chrysalis was found attached to roll of chicken wire fence under a raised garden bed with dill and parsley plants hosting numerous caterpillars. we didn't realize it was Danaus plexippus until nearly eclosion when the colors were visible. The location of the chrysalis is about 30 feet from the milkweed plants in our wildflower garden. I am submitting 4 photos of the chrysalis and butterfly.
