Observation notes: Butterfly was nectaring on the same patch of asters on which I had previously seen an Orange Sulfur, many Sachem skippers (which were still on the patch), and an American Lady. Cabbage Whites were the most common species of butterfly noted in my Eugene neighborhood this summer - they were all over the place. Warm clear day. Photo of aster patch included.
