Observation notes: I spotted this caterpillar (looks to be a Spotted Apatelodes) on a dirt path between my house and my neighbor's cabin in the town of Watson, Lewis County, New York. The path lies in a wooded area that contains a mixture of White Pines, White Ash, Sugar Maples and Black Cherry trees. The weather was cool (50s), so he wasn't moving much, other than a brief slow-crawling reaction when I got close for the photo.
