Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: First seen climbing (slinking?) up the outside wall of my home. It was a pretty fast caterpillar and soon was out of range of my camera. So I put a container under it and touched it. It immediately dropped off the wall and went into the "eating its own tail" routine. I waited for it to relax and continue moving and then got most of my record photos. A cool dry sunny day in the Pacific Northwest. Light breeze. Thankfully the smoke is much lessened today.
