Observation notes: The butterfly was at the live stream crossing about .6 mile from the parking area in Upper Water Canyon, Los Alamos County, NM. It was the only butterfly of any kind that we saw during our slow stroll up the canyon. It was a sunny, calm, beautiful fall day. The temperature was about 55 degrees F.
