Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: One of several buckeyes nectaring from blue-purple aster flowers on an individual plant established along the Rio Grande. Several other butterfly species were also taking nectar at this site, ranging from skippers to checkered whites and variegated fritillaries. The afternoon was partly cloudy, sunny, warm, and windy.

Coordinator notes: this is enough of a mix that I am reluctant to assign it to a particular species. Very likely it is a blend of Common and Gray, but with some Dark mixed in.
