Date notes: I found these two caterpillars feeding on young persimmon trees in our school Outdoor Wildlife Learning Site while I was outside with my Biology classes. I went back out after school and took these pictures.

Observation notes: Two of these larvae were observed consuming leaves on young persimmon trees. They were systematically eating the leaves all the way down to the petiole. The larvae were located about four feet from the ground in two different trees that stand about 5.5 feet tall. The day was breezy and sunny with a high in the low 90s.
