Observation notes: This butterfly stayed near me for a couple minutes, but I wasn't able to catch it with its wings open. I recall that it didn't seem to have any eye spots or strong markings on the tops of the wings; I think they were rather drab, as the undersides are. It was a warm, sunny afternoon. It was small, less than 2 inches long.
