Observation notes: We have walked many miles on Long Pine Key over the years searching for this butterfly. We decided to walk to a patch of host plant and if it was not there we'd turn around. We did and spotted an Orange Sulphur seemingly being chased out of a corridor of trees in the upcoming curve in the trail. I walked ahead and it attacked my head with a red bandana attached to my hat! Then it landed and we observed for 15 minutes or so with it occasionally attacking my hat but most of the time just sitting in one of several small trees in the corridor.
