Observation notes: Pair of blues displaying and exhibiting courtship behavior while nectaring from littleleaf sumac flowers, in a small arroyo crossed by the Sierra Vista Trail near the Soledad Canyon Road crossing. The day was sunny, warm, and windy.

Coordinator notes: here's what I see: the female (above) was nectaring, minding her own business. The male (underneath) sees an opportunity and walks up the twig toward the female. Upon arriving, he tries to court, as indicated by its curved abdomen in photo 2. The female (with abdomen lifted, wings open and fluttering in all remaining photos) is exhibiting "leave me alone, don't bother me" behavior. nicely documented!
