Observation notes: At Devil’s Punchbowl. The area is recovering pretty well from the Bobcat fire a few years ago. The double rainfall this past winter helped. Partly cloudy day in the 70’s F. This butterfly was focused on feeding at Popcorn flowers and wasn't directly loitering around any particular Buckwheat plants. Predominant Buckwheat in the area was California Buckwheat so it could be an early season Bernardino Blue but based on habitat and flight period might be Mojave Blue. Also a small amount of Davidson’s Buckwheat growing in the area.
