Observation notes: I finally found a caterpillar of this species!! Of the many Nolina plants at this location only this one was flowering today so I checked it for caterpillars, and after a few seconds of looking I spotted this one. It wasn't in a great location for photos but I was able to get some showing detail. After a few minutes it crawled farther down the flower stalk behind a sheath of some kind.
