Observation notes: Crescent defending territory including a three-leaf sumac shrub used for perching and displaying. A few other Texan crescents were also present along La Cueva Trail of the Organ Mountains and also using sumac shrubs or branches devoid of leaves as perching/displaying sites. The day was sunny, warm, and windy, although perch sites were shielded from the wind and dappled with shade from taller vegetation.
