Observation notes: Partly cloudy, little wind, temp in low 60s F. Seven to ten individuals seen perching and sparring near host plants scattered on flat area above stream. Only one C. augustinus and one C. eryphon seen during outting. Flowers on the plentiful Kinnikinnic just starting and not many other flowers in bloom yet. Cool spring so far with more moisture (from wet winter) than the past several years.
