Observation notes: This individual was nectaring on the potentilla in my back yard where I've only had Gray Hairstreak before. But the more I looked at these photos the more it didn't seem right - not blue-gray enough with a tinge of green and a bit hairier; but I realize this might be reflection from the yellow flowers; so I've attached the three best photos with slightly different angles in case it helps.

Coordinator notes: Janet, I think you got it right, that yellow light from the flower petals was making this guy look like something else. but there is nothing else it could really be. all the marks match up with Gray Hairstreak
