Observation notes: This butterfly was feeding on the nectar of a button bush along the west bank of the Alcovy River at the base of the Newton Factory Shoals. There was another butterfly feeding on the same bush, smaller than this one and black with orange and white markings. It was a hot, sunny, humid day.
