Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This was our main target species this morning! Searched through quite a lot of Gambel's Oaks both out and back, with more sunshine coming back. Only to eventually find this one fly very briefly and perch strictly on a Narrowleaf Cottonwood. Ha! Purple/Blue really flashed in flight, but was never able to get looks at open wing while perched. Enough opening to see orange squares on end of dorsal HW.

Coordinator notes: I find it easiest to get a good dorsal view early in the morning when they are just warming up; they dorsally bask with wings cocked open about 45 degrees
