Observation date: July 04, 2023

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Nectaring from Allium at a mountain meadow, at approx. 9,200 ft. Probably checkered, but there are a lot of dark markings on the FW. However this does seem to me to be within the range of variation for Checkered. Hopefully the dorsal and ventral views will allow for an ID if possible.

Coordinator notes: Joshua, western and common are very hard to tell apart, even with clear shots of a fresh individual. Where you saw this gal, I think the habitat is not quite appropriate (too low) for western (that's my experience). so I'm going to call it common on that basis.
