Observation notes: Single butterfly, apparently female, was sighted nectaring on cinquefoil within Centre Block of Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park in Saskatchewan and allowed for numerous photographs for about a minute until it flew away. Located where considerable Silvery Lupine exists on the plateau and in agreement with expected habitat for this species. As this is in a location somewhat different than previous sightings of this butterfly in Saskatchewan, the location is being kept less detailed other than it does occur within the provincial park limits. The sighting occurred on a partially sunny day with temperature of the area in the low 20 Celcius. Specimen appeared to be quite fresh. Further inspection of the area was unable to find any other Glaucopsyche piasus though there were a number of Icaricia icarioides and other butterflies in the area at the same time.

Coordinator notes: Unmistakable markings for this species given the freshness as well as the photographs showing both underside views as well as an open wing top view.
