Pink-striped oakworm moth
Anisota virginiensis

Observation date: July 20, 2023
Date notes: I’ve seen this moth a few times in the last week against the front screen window and house siding (July 2023)
Submitted by: CrowLove
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The weather has been very heavy rain in the last week, as well as bright and sunny and very hot conditions. Typical Florida weather for our summer right now. There is a very tall aged oak tree by the road, other than that, there are palms as well. The moth is content with sitting against the house, and doesn’t fly away in fright when I pass right by it daily.
