Observation notes: A few observed in the higher reaches of the Stevens Creek Canyon. Mostly males patrolling in small forest openings, one larger female seen (in picture). About 2000 ft. elevation on west side of canyon in Douglas fir, Live Oak, a few Tan Oak and Canyon Live Oak. Dry brushy undergrowth with not a great amount of flowers in bloom. This canyon trends along the San Andreas fault. Weather was sunny and about 78 degrees with light winds. First sighting of this one.
