Coordinator notes: I think I mentioned before that the higher mountain populations of Purplish Copper are a different species...still controversial among some students...Tharsalea (=Lycaena) florus...the Mountain Copper. Subspecies florus in the central and northern mountains in Colorado, subspecies sangremar in the southern mountains. You have to get shots of the upper hindwings to demonstrate the difference between the two and the Purplish Copper (L. helloides). BAMONA needs to work on their species selection menu too. Mike
