Observation notes: My cat brought this butterfly to my attention when he launched himselft at the front door glass. I snapped a photo before it flew off. I have never seen this species around here before. I'm in central VA which seems a bit North of this one's normal range. I also don't live near a swampy area and don't have any Switchcane it needs for its life cycle support on my property alsthough some neighbors may have some that I don't know about.
