Observation notes: I observed this butterfly last year during a pleasant sunny day exploring our garden for nectar while visiting various flowers (cosmos, dianthus, lantana, etc.). I had only seen the Painted Lady here in Prescott, AZ so expected it was the same until recently. I wanted to share this photo so needed to make sure I had it identified correctly. I had always marveled at the beautiful blue spots on the hindwings of this specimen which were never seen on the Painted Lady. After a little research, I decided this butterfly may be a West Coast Lady although I couldn't find any report of sightings in the Prescott, AZ area on BAMONA. Please help confirm the identity of this butterfly, thanks.
