Date notes: Seen again October 4th.

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Attracted to California fuchsia/Epilobium canum. Nectaring in flowers by sticking its entire head and part of thorax into flowers. This is the 3rd or 4th year that I have had a female in my garden in the fall. Previous sitings were in September. Although I currently have Amorpha planted in my yard, I planted the host plant after seeing the butterflies come through. I have no idea where these butterflies are coming from. Maybe there is a wild, unknown population of Amorpha californica nearby???
