Observation notes: Diane and I have been thinking of Looking for these late in the season so today we did, just a few left and very worn. Warm day 72 at beach no warmer. Saw one female laying eggs on salt grass. Only got very dark shaded photos of her. Clear sky's very light breeze. It was cool enough that most of the time these would just spread wing making it hard to get Ventral side shot. We will try to extend the date as they may last a few more days? Nectar is mostly done, with out the rain from Hillary I don't think these would still be flying? Thanks Ken for all your long hours, this is getting close to being a late season record but not sure of the date?
