Observation notes: This location has served up Fatals pretty consistently. There were multiple individuals seen today, but one landed and posed for a photo session. These guys are very hard to see in late fall foliage. Today's weather was not particularly optimal: filmy high altitude clouds partially obscuring the sun, cooler (low 70's) but still dry following the weekend weak Santa Ana winds. It's also late in the season for these guys, so this sighting was a bit of a welcome surprise. Cabbage Whites, Cloudless Sulphurs, and Marine Blues seen in the immediate vicinity today.
