Observation notes: Hairstreak (1 of 2 individuals on this day) nectars from newly opened sumac flowers along the Pine Tree Trail, near the Aguirre Springs Campground, on the east-facing slope of the Organ Mountains. The early afternoon was sunny, cool, and with light winds. Also observed this day were several southwestern orangetips which were flying low and rapidly and could not be photographed.
