Fatal Metalmark
Calephelis nemesis

Observation date: April 09, 2024
Submitted by: Zencoyote
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Seen fluttering around and perching in a small section of trail in a minor riparian area surrounded by chaparral growth, among sage, sunflower and tobacco tree. These are very small fliers and hard to distinguish from other small flying insects except by their flight patterns. They typically land with wings open, like in the pictures. Weather was fair, warm, and very slightly breezy.
