Observation notes: In my garden, Atenas, Alajuela, Costa Rica. Note that he never landed with open wings, perhaps because it was windy, but one photo shows just a sliver of the charcoal gray top which is another of several ID characteristics.

Coordinator notes: I am quite confident of this ID after struggling with many other similar Hairstreaks. BOA has some better photos and the most photos are on iNaturalist for comparison with those in South America and Mexico.
