Observation notes: Near a floodlight on my deck. Did you see the research that suggests at least some moths might be less likely to be attracted to light traps?

Coordinator notes: First posting from Wisconsin for Agonopterix argillacea on BG. Just looked up some articles about what you mentioned regarding light traps. I've noticed a that over the years the number of moths that show up at the deck lights (not really a light trap I know) has kept decreasing. There are a number of households around here (and increasing) who have lights turned on around the outside of houses every night for the entire night and I know they are not trying to attract moths. Don't get me started on other complaints... I'm hoping to photograph more midges this summer as after all these years the photos I've posted on iNat are getting IDed now.
