Observation notes: On California Buckwheat. Based on flight time and host plant association and relatively large size, could be Lupine Blue but still could be Acmon too. Near Goodwin Creek tributary of Sespe Creek at around 4000 ft elevation. Sunny day in the 80’s F. Brown top side color so female and relatively large size as seen by scale comparison with tiny Buckwheat flowers.

Coordinator notes: This would be Clemence's Blue (Plebejus monticola), a recently elevated species not a Lupine Blue but in that complex. Bamona does not yet recognize monticola or chlorina as species.-Ken Davenport
