Observation notes: Puddling on river algae in “Fossil Creek” tributary of Sespe Creek. Sunny day in the 70’s F. This one has interesting markings. It has an extra “pupil” in its wingtip eye spot. It also has eye spots on its hind wings whereas none of other ones I took pics of did. Not sure if the makings are variation or gender related.
